

To do this, it was vital to record and analyse how and why this was done during typical tasks. In particular, how are these structured texts perceived and why are they not more heavily used within Information Retrieval & Search communities? The main motivation is to show the features in which people can exploit genre within Information Search & Retrieval, in particular, categorisation and search tasks.

This thesis presents an investigation into the high value of structured text (or form) in the context of genre within Information Retrieval. research project that aims to investigate the effectiveness of a training program to improve the sight-reading skill of classical guitarists. This communication is about the first results of a Ph.D. Nevertheless, various strategies and activities could be presented to them in order to improve their instrumental learning and increase their professional opportunities. One negative consequence of this issue for classical guitarists’ musical lifecourse is the disability to work with short deadlines because they must memorize the musical piece before playing it. Usually, classical guitarists are poor sight-readers, but a significant part of them, who invests quite some time preparing memorized performances, believes sight-reading improvement is not a priority since their focus is not playing in musical ensembles. This ability is strongly associated with musical accompaniment activities. Sight-reading is an important skill for professional musicians, especially those who devote themselves to a career in classical music performance.
